Send me Asks and I will draw my answers! :)
The dangers and woes of compartmentalizing one’s own life.
Little doodle with digital embellishments.
Just a little piece as a companion to the contest illustration for Robo-Shark- I showed how I altered his character to fit into my universe with my characters. My art style is toonier than typical anthro artwork, so it took a bit of figuring out to decide how to draw him in a way that didn’t look out of place with my dudes. :) A fun challenge!
"Remember that time Sundae fell into the bay?"
Contest piece for Robo-Shark! Jay teaching some fishing skills to my characters Sundae and Liana. You kind of need opposable thumbs for this, Sundae- sorry!
The scene was heavily referenced off a photo I took while waiting for the boat to Alcatraz. Whenever I go places anymore, I try to imagine my characters hanging out there and take pictures for ideas. :)
I dreamed I was a seagull hanging out in a well furnished tiny seagull house. It was weird.
Hungry and angry, so have some werewolves eating junkfood.
Working on some characters- teachers at a magic school.
Some Rocket doodles done without reference.
The FURTASTIC FOUR, a band of really terrible feline superheroes. Some weird things come out of my brain.
Arbo has meningoencephalitis. :(
Basically, for reasons unknown, he has bouts where his brain swells up and all his muscles become so fatigued he can’t do anything but shake.
He had his first big attack December 2010, that’s when we found out what was wrong. He was prescribed prednisolone to decrease the inflammation, which up until very recently, has worked well, and he was back to his old self again.
Well, this past time a few months ago, he had a bad attack, he wasn’t responding to prednisolone anymore. The only thing we can really do for him is give him a kind of chemotherapy whose side effect is anti-inflammatory. He seems to be recovering slowly through this chemotherapy, but the downside is that each treatment costs $600.
Because I consider Arbo to be like a brother to me, I want to do all I can to help the family pay for the high medical bills, so I’m doing fundraising.
You can buy cute dachshund stickers and shirts here: http://www.redbubble.com/people/growly/works/8309882-dachshund-in-hot-dog-costume
And I have buttons, pictured here for $5 each, with $2 flat shipping anywhere. You can email me at firstname.lastname@example.org to purchase a button.
I actually don’t get a lot of money from the RedBubble sales at all, but I have to try my best. If you can’t afford to spare the money, please consider spreading the word. <3 It is much appreciated.
Poor baby. This breaks my heart. Prayers for the sweet lil puppy.
Oops! Sorry I never posted a followup to this!!!
Arbo has been lovingly referred to as a “miracle baby” because of how far he’s come. I can’t remember what treatment they have him on now but he’s feeling excellent these days. :) Taking several mile long walks every week, running around and jumping off furniture (he’s not supposed to be jumping given his medical history, but sometimes he’s too fast to catch!) He’s living a proper happy dog life now, and I couldn’t be happier.
Seizures are still a big risk and I’ve noticed some neurological problems that may or may not be caused by the brain damage (obsessive compulsion), and he’ll have to be on strictly controlled medication his whole life, but it’s all totally manageable. When Arbo gets overheated or over-exhausted, he seems to be most at risk for having another seizure. Because the family knows his triggers and is used to dealing with him, any seizures that happen now are very slight and pass quickly. I don’t live with the inlaws, but when I go over there to visit, Arbo always looks bright-eyed and is wagging his tail and climbing all over us to give kisses and lay in our laps. :)
During my fundraiser, I was able to raise about $210 for the family, which really did help during their time of financial need. They have a handle on it now and Arbo hasn’t needed chemo in a long time, so I haven’t been trying to raise money for them anymore (indeed I need to just be worried about my own bills at the moment u_u). So any RedBubble sales will be going to my pocket instead, just so you know! Thanks for your compassion guys! <3
Hey, whatever floats your boat, Shelly.
I was so surprised when she crawled in there!
WIP I started a couple nights ago. Contest piece for my friend Jay!
